another cooking saturday~!!

this week i wanted to cook a pasta dish with prawns and i came across a recipe using zucchini in mash/puree form. basically you keep cooking the grated zucchini till it's well cooked and mash it. i didnt bother with a grater, and just chopped the zucchini up in small pieces. i wasnt really confident with the flavour as zucchini doesnt have much flavour.. so i added the usual onion and leek as well as some anchovies.

still in the wok:

-Linguini with king prawn in zucchini and tomato sauce-

another dish cooked in rice cooker - minimal attention required:

-Steamed chicken with chinese mushrooms-

mum gave me some radish cakes for chinese new year and i attempted pan frying them ~ singaporean style ~ cut in cubes and pan fried with egg, soy and xo sauce. i didnt have garlic chives and bean sprouts at home... but added some shaved asparagus, just some green...

Have been occupied with work and other stuff lately but felt obliged to post something up... especially when this one was cooked a week ago ;p

Last saturday i slept in as usual, and the best thing was to have a big and satisfying brunch.

-Saturday big brekkie for 2-

lets bring on THE-LOT - the more the merrier~~ scrambled egg, prosciutto, tomato with basil, mushroom, sausage and asparagus

and even MORE satisfying when you put 2 servings in one massive plate ~~

sis came over for dinner tonight so i get a chance to COOK!!

she loves risotto and i've promised that i'll cook it for her some time. inspired by a dish i tried at a spanish japanese fusion restaurant a while ago - prawn with israeli couscous - where they used rocket and paprika, giving the dish a nice peppery kick, i thought that should work with risotto too:

-Chorizo risotto with red capsicum rocket + paprika-

sis brought along a big ball of mozzarella cheese, so i made a salad as well:

Thanks hubby for sending me the photos so that i can post them up (they're kinda precious now that i dont cook as often)!! Had some due to expire buttermilk and leftover mascarpone cream from the strawberry almond torte, so i used the baby dutch pancake recipe to make normal size pancakes for brekkie!!

this one for hubby:

-Pancakes with banana + mascarpone cream-

this one for moi:
